Let’s get things started! We’d like to know the origin and destination of your move, and most importantly what made you decide to pack up and leave! What was that experience like?

Moved From Vienna to Amsterdam for personal reasons. The experience was fantastic and very easy. The company replied to a quote, then submitted the most competitive offer. They continued to organize efficiently, with only the necessary guidance and details, but in a way that made what could have been a stressful process very relaxing and reassuring. The movers arrived on time. The move was carried out perfectly, they delivered above and beyond what was expected of them. I only wish I could use the same next time!

Finding a good moving company is painful, we know that. How did you manage to choose the perfect one out of all the options out there?

I submitted a bid to various companies – Wildenhofer stood out from the beginning for as a top 3 contender. I got sizing estimates and also consulted various levels of service. I had some time, so I opted to pack myself and have Wildenhofer do the removal and unloading. They did a wonderful job. It was quick and easy. I was able to book them with a reasonable advance notice and then just forget about the process — they took care of everything else! For the price quality ratio these are the best movers!

Let’s get to the fun part! Take us through the moving day – did everything go as planned?

The day of a move nothing goes according to plan. Many things of the moving day were chaotic, personal items got packed, lost, thrown away by myself during packing. It was very reassuring to not have to worry about one aspect of the move which is the movers. I was also able to book them with very limited research — it became clear very quickly they were the right fit. The price point was important for me because moves are very expensive, so I was very happy to have this company. I would always recommend.

Are you master of chaos or is chaos the master of you – What are your top 3 tips to help others make their moving day less chaotic?

First tip- as soon as you know you are moving, start doing a bit of organizing, sorting and pack each day whenever you have a bit of free time. That way work doesn’t pile up to the last minute and cause a lot of stress and beat the clock mentality.

Second – decide a budget. Any move can be done with any budget. But the golden rule — it can be any two of good, fast and cheap— always and forever applies.

Third — take time to careful select each belonging that you keep throughout the year. You’ll always be happy to bring along things you love when you move, but things you don’t love are best sold or donated! You can use many websites to donate, and people will be quick to pick them up.

Let’s talk money – did your move cost as much as you thought?

Higher than expected

What do you think made the cost higher/lower?

I had to use multiple companies for a two-part move — not having an elevator in this case added a lot of man hours.

Last words?
Try to enjoy it! And if you hate it, just do, don’t think. It takes more time to think about a moving task than to do it usually.
