Let’s get things started! We’d like to know the origin and destination of your move, and most importantly what made you decide to pack up and leave! What was that experience like?
My man & I decided to move from Belgium to Italy to start a new life together as a family in my wonderful home country. After 10 years of living in this cold but cozy European country we both needed to move to the warmer places and build our next dimension in a country with better weather, good food and closer to my parents. We both felt Italy would be the perfect country to get older together, buy a van, travel in the nature and find our dream historical village to place our roots for our own family.
Finding a good moving company is painful, we know that. How did you manage to choose the perfect one out of all the options out there?
Looking for a moving company has been a long and exhausting process. Many offers, many not trustworthy, and most of them very expensive. We are a young couple so we wanted to stick to our budget and so we decided to take little risk with this small company with the best price. I must say I trusted my intuition and I decided to listen to my heart. The offer I received was simply so honest and unbelievably reliable. They didn’t ask for a full payment upfront (difficult for us to trust if they would show up or not) but a small deposit like it should be.
Let’s get to the fun part! Take us through the moving day – did everything go as planned?
This small UK / Polish company has much of a family vibe and easy atmosphere: the driver was helpful, friendly and hard worker. The departure and the arrival were perfectly estimated on time. The driver was very strong and professional and so we could load and unload everything as planned and even a little bit more. We first received a phone call from the manager to check if everything was in order and if we could start the loading a bit before than our schedule. We were ready so for us it was not a problem, actually we were happy to start early.
Are you master of chaos or is chaos the master of you – What are your top 3 tips to help others make their moving day less chaotic?
✍🏼Write what each box contains (winter clothes, kitchen tools, pillows, toilette)
✍🏼Try to keep all of your stuff divided (by room, by person) and organize as much as you can: remember that you start the opening the boxes afterwards in a totally new location and it will be chaos!
✍🏼The perfect moving start weeks before: give away what you don’t need, clear up and clean up. It will help to have less stuff, it’s easy to move and re-organize + you will support the recycling lifestyle and make other people happy!
